COINS, TREASURE, and RELICS

This forum is dedicated to the hunting of coins and relics with a metal detector.

Coin and Relic Forum Rules

First off let me welcome you to the Nugget-Shooter Coin and relic Forum,

There are just a few rules here and yup I do enforce them and keep an eye on things as best I can. Here are a few guidelines I'd like you to follow if you will be participating here.

Vulgar and abusive language is not welcome here! Heck a cuss word to get a point across is not so bad, but I think you know what I mean.

I will not host public arguments and pissing matches between individuals here so please just don't do it. When it happens the post most times will simply vanish into cyber space.

Political posts are not permitted here and surly you can find other forums that host those discussions, I don't think anyone cares if you are Conservative or Liberal when we are out hunting gold nuggets.

You may not use this forum to advertise any other dealer, store, or product without written permission by owner at any time. Used items are allowed in the classified section.

This forum is not responsible for anything said by it's members at any time. This is a public forum and will remain so and although I can and will occasionally zap "bad content" I don't do it often and so far have never banned a person. Also opinions expressed here do not always represent the opinion of the forum's owner!

Guests are welcome to browse the forum and use the information provided by registered members, but you can not post yourself until you are a registered member.

That is pretty much it my fellow Nugget Shooters so enjoy the forum, keep it about metal detecting for coin and relic related subjects, and play nice.

Bill Southern

    • It looks like 20 kg. of quartz to me. You calculate the amount of gold in quartz with a specific gravity test. Take one of those specimens and do an SG. That will give a prospective buyer an idea of how much gold might be in the rock.  It honestly does not look like gold in the photos. If it is gold and you are truly getting beads from it then it is worth something. How much exactly will depend on a specific gravity calculation that will determine the amount of gold in each rock. Lots of people buy gold. Not many buy ore like that for display. Most of the people here are not too interested in buying ore. They are more interested in finding it. But if you can quantify the amount of gold you have then it will be much easier for a buyer to estimate what it is actually worth.
    • Must be the quality of the pics.  I expect gold to be shiny and gold looking.  Even the picture in your last post of the panned gold does not look like gold. You're the one doing all the work and crushing and smelting.  It’s a shame the pictures do not reflect all that work you put in. Is the gold you melted pass a continuity check with a multimeter?
    • @Red_desert He's not asking you if you published any of the books you referenced, he asking you for that info from the books in question, you seemed to have said you found them on your bookshelf when you posted this..."I looked on the shelf and located the 2 mining history books"..., so can you not open them and relay the publishing info, etc. that he's asking for?
    • I watched the trailer. It looked like something I would probably enjoy. I don't watch movies very often these days. But if I find myself in the movie mood and "Nomadland" is on the list I will certainly watch it. I will see "Nomadland" because you posted about it. You have enriched my life a little with your post and I appreciate that Slim. That was a beautiful gesture and I want you to know I am grateful. Do you know any nomads with interesting stories Slim? Do you have any insights on the nomad lifestyle you would like to share with us?
    • I don't know bob, but it looks like you are arguing with yourself. Have you seen the movie yet?
