PROSPECTORS LOUNGE

This section is a little different and the place to post prospecting questions, birthdays, and talk not directly related to other sections of the forum, but still related to gold prospecting. No Political or religious posts will be allowed please and will be deleted by staff

Prospectors Lounge Guidelines

There are just a few rules here and yup I do enforce them and keep an eye on things as best I can. Here are a few guidelines I'd like you to follow if you will be participating here. This forum is not moderated as heavily as the other sections so please do not enter or open a topic if you think you will be offended. If you are at least respond like an adult or we will remove your post as soon as brought to our attention.

Vulgar and abusive language is not welcome here! Heck a cuss word to get a point across is not so bad, but I think you know what I mean.

I will not host public arguments and pissing matches between individuals here so please just don't do it. When it happens the post most times will simply vanish into cyber space.

Political or Religious posts belong in "Off Topic" but surly you can find other forums that host those discussions if it is your thing, I don't think anyone cares if you are Conservative or Liberal when we are out hunting gold nuggets.

You may not use this forum to advertise any other dealer, store, or product without written permission by owner at any time. Used items are allowed in the classified section.

This forum is not responsible for anything said by it's members at any time. This is a public forum and will remain so and although I can and will occasionally zap "bad content" I don't do it often and so far have never permanently banned a person. Also opinions expressed here do not always represent the opinion of the forum's owner!

Guests are welcome to browse the forum and use the information provided by registered members, but you can not post yourself until you are a registered member.

That is pretty much it my fellow Nugget Shooters so enjoy the forum, keep it clean and play nice.

    • Here is a good article on the ammo situation.  https://www.outdoorlife.com/story/guns/wheres-all-the-darn-ammo-federal-premiums-president-has-some-answers/ My son and I are dabbling in auto pistol. 9mm & .45 acp. It is really tough to find components. Bullets are scarce and primers are non-existent. Developing a new cartridge is difficult in this brave new world. It is not impossible to get the stuff you need but you can't just go down to Sportsman's Warehouse and get it. We needed brass. New brass is unavailable and once fired and tumbled brass was expensive. So I decided to just hunt at the shooting spots and find what we needed. I have met a half dozen guys out prospecting brass in the last couple weeks. It is always the same story. They are saving what they can use and selling the rest.  In the last couple weeks I have done pretty good on brass. I have found about $100 worth of 9mm and have about $50 worth of misc. brass to sell. I have put in about 6-8 hours of hunting time after I shoot. I'm thinking about spending a couple days just hitting every shooting spot  one after the other. I actually think I could make a hundred bucks a day. Maybe more. The same spots I frequent are being hunted by several other guys. So the number of people shooting is amazing. I can hunt the same spots every day and pick up pocketfulls of brass. It's like hitting little flakes with a metal detector. They add up quick. And there is a ready market for the stuff.
    • I saw a poodle   face on the granite at 30 zeconds into the video!
    • I keep hoping to stumble into one of those! Had a funny one last week. Hiked a mile or so, humping up hills, clambering over rocks, and generally huffing and puffing my way to what "must surely be" an untouched wash. Scrambled up over the last hill, and found a Jeep trail right to it. Campfire ring, Keystone light cans, and all.  I said a few choice words, mostly aimed at myself, for not studying Google Earth more closely, ate my soggy peanut butter sandwich, and shuffled home. I do hold hope of finding either a virgin wash, or a patch below an eroded vein. In the mean time, I'll keep raiding the washes that are so obvious everyone has driven right by them. It pays off for now👍 Regards, Kyle
