Nugget Shooter Gold Nugget Forum Rules

First off let me welcome you to the Nugget-Shooter Forum,

There are just a few rules here and yup I do enforce them and keep an eye on things as best I can. Here are a few guidelines I'd like you to follow if you will be participating here. This forum is not moderated as heavily as the other sections so please do not enter or open a topic if you think you will be offended. If you are at least respond like an adult or we will remove your post as soon as brought to our attention.

Vulgar and abusive language is not welcome here! Heck a cuss word to get a point across is not so bad, but I think you know what I mean.

I will not host public arguments and pissing matches between individuals here so please just don't do it. When it happens the post most times will simply vanish into cyber space.

Political or Religious posts belong in "Off Topic" but surly you can find other forums that host those discussions if it is your thing, I don't think anyone cares if you are Conservative or Liberal when we are out hunting gold nuggets.

You may not use this forum to advertise any other dealer, store, or product without written permission by owner at any time. Used items are allowed in the classified section.

This forum is not responsible for anything said by it's members at any time. This is a public forum and will remain so and although I can and will occasionally zap "bad content" I don't do it often and so far have never permanently banned a person. Also opinions expressed here do not always represent the opinion of the forum's owner!

Guests are welcome to browse the forum and use the information provided by registered members, but you can not post yourself until you are a registered member.

That is pretty much it my fellow Nugget Shooters so enjoy the forum, keep it clean and play nice.

    • Geez Terry you just made me realize how short my hermit pick has become by looking at your pic.  This has become a great advertisement for Calvin.
    • Hi all, this is my first post but I've been reading this forum for a bit and soaking it all up. I don't know any of you but have learned much from all of you and I thank you for that. I've been trying to understand claims and how to make sure I know where I can and can't swing a detector. To that end I've been looking at mylandmatters.org and the county recorders office and trying to educate myself. While doing so I found three claims on AZ State Trust land, specifically at T6N R3W S5. All three are or were claimed by the same (presumably) husband/wife team according to the Maricopa County Recorder. I've checked both mining location and quit claim deed records to find this same pair associated with each claim, either now or in the past. The amended drawing for one of the claims does not appear to lie over the private property in that particular section. It appears (to this newb) to be smack inside State Trust. So what gives? I had thought State Trust was off limits unless a pricey permit was purchased and operating plan submitted. Do many prospectors do that for State Trust claims in AZ? I appreciate any clarification. I've only worked a detector in parks and yards so I'm trying to learn where I can and can't go to hunt nuggets and meteorites. Don't want to inadvertently become a claim jumper!
    • Bunk's kinda funny lookin'..   hold on, that's a picture of me!
    • Hi. This is my first post here, I’m new. Anyway, we were out hiking today and I came across a rock that stood out to me quite a bit. I did find some black onyx today and some other stuff, but the rock I found that intrigues me is this piece of what looks to be lava rock or pumice. Another part that intrigues me is the place I found it, it’s not really supposed to be where I found it, or at least I can’t find anything online that includes ignious rocks from volcanic activity around here. The area I mean is about 20minutes east of Asheville. Not going to say exactly. Anyway, it looks mostly like lava rock but it does look melted. I had a quick idea that it might be a meteorite but I kinda highly doubt it. The rock Is roughly 3 inches by 3 inches. It’s black on the outside and just a little lighter on the inside to a dark dark brown. Any help please? Ide really appreciate it! Thank you so much!
    • Hello all, I recently meet a buddy of my oldest friend who likes collecting weird rocks. My friend had told me his buddy had found some strange rocks that, my friend, thought might be meteorites. I ended up trading his buddy for a few pieces and he gave me some to have looked at. This is a piece he gave me to have looked at. Just wondering if this is Fusion Crust. I have not did a streak test and have not tested a magnet (read it destroys natural magnetic field). Thank you for the help. Edward M.
