Strange line around "rock". Something besides me and a pencil please.

Nothing strange or unusual about this. Geologic pressures fractured the rock. The fracture was later filled in with another material. You will often see stones like this described as "fractured and healed."

I'm not sure it is filled in.... just looks like a crack in the rock

Quartz veins that are sometimes acompanied by gold and other minerals are formed/filled in within cracks similar to the one your rock has.

I don't feel any crack. Only possible explanation is some kind of pressure ridge closed back up as suggested. Not an expert just an observer.

Your absolutely right !  If you can see a crack plain as day but not feel it, then it does not exist !   I keep trying to tell people that  :89:
