Sunday , I snuck out, and climbed around the hills looking for hillside patches. With all the damp ground, it is a great opportunity to get the most out of a coil. :brows:

Scored this nice half grammer  with the o`l  SD2200V2  :yesss:

You old pro's make it look easy :thumbsupanim  When specifically looking for hillside patches are you primarily looking for pocket gold by matching up the correct geology formation with minerals/colors usually associated with gold? Thanks for the pic of oro!

Randall; the answer is yes and no...seriously!  The thread at the top about gold is full of tips, reading and learning is great too....experience combined with all that is wonderful.

So is a dash of luck.

anyway, maybe Adam will share with us his general methods...

Thanks Fred and you're right about the great reading and prospecting tips to be found here! I'm pretty sure I know what you mean by yes and no. Sometimes you get visual surface geological clues while other times "mother nature" has tossed, tumbled and scattered the gold over large areas just waiting to be found :>)

Thanks everyone !

No secret detecting methods or anything. However, I have been paying attention to transitions between rock types.  :black_knight_standing:

I just don't know of any hobby that gives me as much enjoyment as this one.  I mean I even get excited when I see that other people have scored nice nuggets.  Way to go Adam.
