Warble walking

Recommended Posts

Went out with dad today to take the detectors for a walk. What a nice day for detecting! Cool, quite, just right.

First area we went to looked good, but, nothing. Two pieces of trash.

So, we decide to hit another wash close by that's been kind to us in the past.

The gold doesn't start showing up until you a half mile up it and it is a iron stone factory!

I decided this time to go extremely slow, and listen for any slight warble. Covered 60 yards in 2 hrs, dug 800 ironstones, but! I did get three little guys :yesss:

Will have to go up and finish the other half mile of wash......that should keep me busy for a bit.

Great job, Tom.  I've been accused many times of going too slow.  But if you know there's been gold found in the near vicinity, then why not?   I swear a lot of the gold I have found was passed up by others going too fast.  That's fine.  More for me ... and for you, it would seem.  Good on ya!!

Yup, 13x17. Im amazed at how small a target it will find for such a big coil.

Little heavy but I use a bungie.

Yuppers! Along with the ironstone there is a beige/pink rock that sounds off and then its loaded with black sand. Ive hunted this wash for years and would only dig up the louder signals, but now im down to crumb crunching in it. Who knows, there may be a deep lunker.  Weve gotten about 4 oz. from this wash so far. Its too much wash to dig out by hand. Fun detecting :)

I didn't get my B'day nugget on my B'day because I was helping to stake a new claim  in the Bradshaw's near Prescott off the Senator Hwy with RRPC (Don't do it Jen ... It should be on the website by now!:old:)  ... BUT ... I did get it on Saturday ... yesterday when I was invited down to Bunk's claim near Rich Hill. The Monster constantly amazes me with the tiny size nugletts that thing produces. It is soaking now and will be weighed when done but guessing in neighborhood of 0.20 grains. I was using the 5" coil with setting on Manual 10 and deep ... yes it was a bit noisy but through all the hot rock noise I could hear the nugget load and clear. Pictures to follow at a later date.
