I can't agree with you more. Both sides   (Parties)  and the Media had us by the nostrils long time ago, and it continues today.

Here is a little sweetheart of a nugget to get us on the right track again......

I have stopped watching football.  I was shocked.  What exactly do these guys want and how bad do they think the US is compared to the other countries?  They are welcome to go to the Canadian Football League.

To think my tax dollars go to building stadiums for those millionaire clowns.

My take, is that they are supporting the "BLM" (black lives matter) crew and want the police to stop shooting black street thugs....

I stopped watching pro sports back when they went on strike in (I think) the eighties....

Just a quick warning to those who prefer name calling on members of this forum for political differences ... That is one of the reasons threads like this get stopped and removed. It is OK to state an opinion ... be aware when you do so that you may find disagreement to your opinion as we are all different and come from various experiences and backgrounds ... It is NOT OK to resort to name calling or belittling anyone on this forum.

Mike; I am sure you know that name calling and belittling contrary opinion is what passes for honest discourse, most of the time, by most of the opinioners (new word)....on this and other forums.

Hey Home, That's what libs do...they reverse everything. Mirror image. And the last time I looked, the President's job isn't to improve the lives of Americans. I am neither liberal or conservative.. democratic or republican. I'm independent and I call it as I see it. I'm sure there's others on this forum who have the same opinion of the white house jackass as I do. They simply want to keep quiet.

I hope a category 5 hurricane hits Idaho one of these days so you can fend for yourself and brag to everyone that no one in your state needed government help.

Fred I am aware ... It is just when folks call others "idiots" ... that it many times goes beyond what Bill wants especially when we get into the politics. I am the first one to enjoy a little political or controversial discourse ... just keeping it to an opinion without belittling the folks on the opposite side of the discussion is perfectly fine. We can all share our opinions without getting personal so long as we all understand that they are individual opinions and not a belittlement of the other side of the debate if ya know what I mean. I'm sure you understand the intent of my original post. :thumbsupanim

I am angry that the protest disrespects the United States of America. I am angry that the national anthem is being used by a group with the means to protest in any other way of their own choosing that would not disrespect the greatest country on the planet, but because it might cost them their own money they choose to use what is sacred to this nation, what many many men have died for to advance their views and become nothing more than corrupt heroes to the youth of this nation. When you see children coping this behavior you can only question the future of this great nation.

LOL...I remember in 1976 when the government's new TETON dam failed, and we all got wiped out in the flood. That was a big help. No government entities to be found. We Idahoans just went to work, picked up the pieces, and cleaned it all up. As I recall the government sent me a check for $1,200 for my flooded 14 x 70. In a year or two, you could hardly tell there'd been a flood. The government did pay for the damages, but we handled the labor part of it, mostly ourselves.

I am serious here....can someone explain to me what oppression we are speaking off? I am an immigrant...have NO ties to slavery....I love this country. It confuses me when one race speaks of oppression in 2017...is this all about a few black shot by police? Whites, latinos and others are shot also ...I just don't get this. Trumps are president...calling him names on this forum disrespects me and others I am sure. The biggest problem I see is the Media...they have way too much control and power over public opinion most of it based on a liberal agenda. They divided us all by party line, gender, sexual orientation, class, race  and so much more. Instead of being a vehicle to unify , they choose chaos and divisions. So again, we don't need dividers we need unifiers....In times of war,  when we have men and women abroad serving OUR country in conflict zones we need to be respectful of OUR flag, period. If you feel oppressed take it to the courts..get a lawyer and fight for your right to PARTY....:yesss: I hope no one is offended .

The only Oppression they are experiencing is self imposed.    This is NOT so much a Race issue as your lead you to think. This is a Islamic Stance of   Rejection .   Islam Rejects Your (Our) Laws of the Land.  Our ways of life.  Our Customs.  The Bonkers part of it is  People are Affording them the Protections under the 1st Amendment that all followers of Islam  must Refuse and Reject by Islamic Law.    NOTHING contained in the 1st Amendment is allowed under Islam.  The Communist Controlled News Networks are using them to gain there own followers in the push to oust this government.  Yea, I know.  Conspiracy Monger and what not.  LOL Mark my words and I'll shut up.  Your at War with Communism and the We the People are Clueless.   ANTIFA are nothing more then the Minoans the communist controlled public education system has been pumping out for years.

Homefire:  We are not talking about Islam.  The subject at hand has nothing to do with Islam.  Why do you keep bringing up Islam?  Start a topic about Islam if you want to.

Anyways....

Many Great Men and Women died to protect their right to peacefully protest.  Am I wrong?  Isn't that what America is about?  1st Amendment.  Even if you don't like it?  Trump even tweeted something to this effect the very next day after his inauguration.

DKiHEpTVoAArHkK.jpg

Asking for equal protection under law is disrespectful?  Bringing attention to the issue is disrespectful?  Kneeling and bowing your head is disrespectful?  Do you pray?

Are their rights any less than yours?  Fine, don't watch NFL, nobody is forcing you.  One thing for sure, NFL is not America.  It's just one small, fairly insignificant, aspect of America.  An America where a man is 'owned' by a team and 'overpaid' to sacrifice his health and most likely shorten his lifespan for a miniscule fraction of the overall take of the NFL and it's 'owners'.  Designed to distract the masses from the real issues and keep the status quo.

The President suggesting that the protesters be fired is.....

Well, actually it's against the law.   :nono:

18 U.S. Code § 227 – Wrongfully influencing a private entity’s employment decisions by a Member of Congress or an officer or employee of the legislative or executive branch:

(a) Whoever, being a covered government person, with the intent to influence, solely on the basis of partisan political affiliation, an employment decision or employment practice of any private entity—
(1) takes or withholds, or offers or threatens to take or withhold, an official act, or
(2) influences, or offers or threatens to influence, the official act of another,
shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than 15 years, or both, and may be disqualified from holding any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States.
(b) In this section, the term “covered government person” means—
(1) a Senator or Representative in, or a Delegate or Resident Commissioner to, the Congress;
(2) an employee of either House of Congress; or
(3) the President, Vice President, an employee of the United States Postal Service or the Postal Regulatory Commission, or any other executive branch employee (as such term is defined under section 2105 of title 5, United States Code).

I would suggest to the President that his time would be better served addressing the possible nuclear war with N. Korea.  Or how about the American citizens currently without power and water due to recent natural disasters?  Millions....    As far as I can see, he's got a lot of work to do with regards to all the 'promises' he made during the election.  Why does everything out of his mouth have to be divisive?  He could have said that he doesn't agree with the method of the protest but would look further into the inequality issues.  That would be "Presidential".  Even if he did nothing about it.  Which I'm certain, will be the case.

Have any of YOU ever worn any "Flag" clothing?  How about a ''Flag'' bandanna around your head?  ''Flag'' bikini briefs?   You are disrespectful....

Those guys who drive around with a US Flag attached to the receiver hitch of their trucks.  Disrespectful.

Using "Patriotism" to bully other Americans.  Disrespectful.

U.S. Flag Code:

  • The words "flag, standard, colors, or ensign", as used herein, shall include any flag, standard, colors, ensign, or any picture or representation of either, or of any part or parts of either, made of any substance or represented on any substance, of any size evidently purporting to be either of said flag, standard, colors, or ensign of the United States of America or a picture or a representation of either, upon which shall be shown the colors, the stars and the stripes, in any number of either thereof, or of any part or parts of either, by which the average person seeing the same without deliberation may believe the same to represent the flag, colors, standard, or ensign of the United States of America.[2]
  • The flag should never be dipped to any person or thing, unless it is the ensign responding to a salute from a ship of a foreign nation. This is sometimes misreported as a tradition that comes from the 1908 Summer Olympics in London, where countries were asked to dip their flag to King Edward VII; American team flag bearer Ralph Rose did not follow this protocol, and teammate Martin Sheridan is often, though apocryphally, quoted as proclaiming that "this flag dips before no earthly king."[3] This tradition was codified as early as the 1911 U.S. Army drill regulations.[4]
  • The flag should never be displayed with the union (the starred blue union in the canton) down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.[5]
  • The flag should not be used as "wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery", or for covering a speaker's desk, draping a platform, or for any decoration in general (exception for coffins). Bunting of blue, white and red stripes is available for these purposes. The blue stripe of the bunting should be on the top.[6]
  • The flag should never be drawn back or bunched up in any way.
  • The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling.[7]
  • The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed, or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard.
  • The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.[8]
  • The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, firefighters, police officers, and members of patriotic organizations.
  • Flag lapel pins may also be worn (they are considered replicas) and are worn near the heart.
  • The flag should never have any mark, insignia, letter, word, number, figure, or drawing of any kind placed on it or attached to it.
  • The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
  • The flag should never be stepped on.
  • In a parade, the flag should not be draped over the hood, top, sides, or back of a vehicle, railroad train, or boat. When the flag is displayed on a motorcar, the staff shall be fixed firmly to the chassis or clamped to the right fender.[9]
  • When the flag is lowered, no part of it should touch the ground or any other object; it should be received by waiting hands and arms. To store the flag it should be folded neatly and ceremoniously.
  • The flag should be cleaned and mended when necessary.
  • If the flag is being used at a public or private estate, it should not be hung (unless at half staff or when an all-weather flag is displayed)[10] during rain or violent weather.
  • When a flag is so tattered that it no longer fits to serve as a symbol of the United States, it should be destroyed in a dignified manner, preferably by burning. The Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, the military and other organizations regularly conduct dignified flag-burning ceremonies.[11][12]
  • The flag should never touch anything beneath it. Contrary to an urban legend, the flag code does not state that a flag that touches the ground should be burned. Instead, it is considered disrespectful to the flag and the flag in question should be moved in such a manner so it is not touching the ground.[11]
  • The flag should always be permitted to fall freely. (An exception was made during the Apollo moon landings when the flag hung from a vertical pole designed with an extensible horizontal bar, allowing full display even in the absence of an atmosphere.)

Here's a couple of quotes I viewed today...

"We should not want an America where people are forced to stand.  We should work towards an America where people want to stand."

"We don't have to agree on everything to be kind to one another"

As long as Americans continue to bicker and fight with each other, the problems that are dragging us down will continue to get worse.  Which is exactly what our enemies have always wanted.

Now get off the computer and go find some gold !!

Ok all, this is why I hold my political rants. Look at us, ALL of us. We all love the the same thing here. GOLD AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS. Don't forget that. Like Mike said, we ALL have different views on political parties. It's just how it works I guess. BUT how can we all have such great conversations on here about things we love to do, and show pictures of awesome nuggets and of friends and family, and then 1 little thing like politics changes the whole atmosphere of the place? People get so mad, then name calling comes out, then it just ALL goes all hell ( sorry ). We need to remember that everyone on here enjoys the same thing as one another. Heck, one day I would love to make it down to Az where most of you live and meet you all. I would love to join one of your outings, but I would think that would be pretty hard to do if I sat here behind my phone screen calling people names and picking a fight with someone I might actually get to chase a nugget with some day. ALL I'm saying here fellers is, we ALL have strict views on things, whether it's how we were raised or how we learned things in life that work for us as individuals. Just because it's how we were raised or taught or is what we believe doesn't mean it's the right way for everyone. To each their own right. So if your Democrat and enjoy it, don't push it on other people. If your Republican and enjoy it, don't push it on other people. We are a tight nit group here with some amazing people with lots of passion for what we love. No reason to ruin that over a little political BS. Look at us, we keep saying the media is dividing the country and different races, what are we doing here right now? Dividing ourselves. I didn't see the media post on here and cause this gripe session. Just my thoughts. Take care all.

Dan

I couldn't agree with you more Dan.  I would be happy to meet you in person and go hunt gold together.  Come on down....  :head:

Since yesterday, I haven't been able to get this out of my head.  Partly because of things certain people have said on here and obviously how they feel about it.  I hold my tongue most times, mostly because I know that a moderate, middle of the road American, might not always be popular in an 'environment' such as this one.  I'm a middle-aged man, born and raised in Arizona.  Son of critically wounded ( he survived ) and now retired (35 years) police officer.  My job as a machinist was mostly for the benefit and support of the defense industry.  I grew up in Tempe, home of ASU, a 'liberal college'.  I am married to a Vietnamese immigrant (legal) who's father fought for their country against communism and then served over two years in a 're-education camp' after the war.  They risked their lives, and almost died in the China Sea to escape Vietnam and come to America.  I have many educated, successful friends who vote for different people even though they all want the same basic things.  Neither 'side' has a monopoly on wisdom.  I am done.  Except for this one last video....  :cowboypistol:

Why don't you Google their names?  Since you're so concerned about it.  I didn't realize Jerry Jones, owner of the Cowboys, was muslim....

It seems that everything you don't like or think is wrong with America gets lumped into the same basket.

I won't get into a back and forth with you.  I know where you stand, and now you know where I stand.  I also respect your right to believe whatever you believe.

Luke that's going to be the down fall of this Great county !  Apathy .  Everyone  just looks the other way until it's in their face and then it's someone else s fault that it got that way.

Americans have allowed them selves to be herded into nothing more then a group of Minions for the Socialistic Cause.   Everyone is scrambling to make enough money to live on never mind have something for later.  Our own government has become the vary thing the founding fathers tried so hard to prevent from happening at yet here we are.    Minority groups of  Un Americans and  Non Americans are being allowed to  fundamentally change the nation from a once great nation to a squabbling monkey party.

Political Correctness is nothing more then Fascism described as Politeness !

Eaaa Check this out.

This guy wants a TGSL PCB assembled for him.   I told him I would bang it off for him for $20.00 and he pays shipping both ways.

Not only did he agree but he's  throwing all this in the pot as well :

new chance pi kit
and another pi kit
king cobra board those and the other discovery boards
 4 or 5 coils
1 complete Nautilus detector needs a rod it works.

It seems I'll have plenty of toys to play with over the winter, eaa?

I've always thought each individual is a product of their environment. Part of that comes from your genetic makeup from your parents. The other part comes from your life experiences as you grow up from being a tiny tot until you reach adulthood and beyond. I was born in St Louis but raised in Ferguson, Missouri. Yes, that Ferguson. I grew up with many friends, white and black. Even had an old Japanese neighbor I used to play badminton with in the backyard.

After I graduated from high school, I worked for a chemical company for a number of years. Among my co-workers were whites,  blacks, indians, and mexicans and one pakastani.

I learned a great deal about life in other countries from some of my co-workers and why they came here.

Everything about the white house jackass, past and present actions points to him being a racist demagogue. Nothing more. Nothing less.

LukeJ's video above expresses my sentiments exactly. I'm done with this topic and am looking forward to a weekend of NFL football.
