Flint (dark Chalcedony) with a nice weathering "rind". Nice find. If you have a flint lock musket, your good to go.
So it is just flint? I found it quite strange cause it has a black glass like thing inside
And does anyone have any advice on where I could take it to so someone could have a proper look, I'd love it to be a gemstone of some sort would make perfect jewellery for my girlfriend my dad just suggested to me it could be volcanic glass (obsidian) with other stone melted onto it
looks like flint from the UK.
My first impression is also flint, can't think of anything else it could be.
